Meeting Jace Taylor

I was very excited to finally meet and find out who Jace Taylor was when I was managing Dixie Red Sands Apartments. The name would not get out of my head when I read it on the application. It sounded so familiar but I didn’t know why. I checked MySpace to see pictures but still did not recognize him. I had such a strong feeling about this person coming to live at Dixie Red Sands that I sent him a contract instead of another guy that was next in line on the waiting list for an open room that just came up. His mom had filed out his application and signed his contract as well since he was serving a mission in Mesa Arizona and wouldn’t be home until December. I found it odd, but there was still something that would not let his name or the fact that he needed to live at Dixie Red Sands escape my mind.
Jace Taylor was moving in later than everyone else so he had to come get his key from me at my apartment instead of the office. I waited anxiously all day wondering when he was going to move in. Roy, the owner, called and let me know that he was on his way and would be to my apartment in about 30 minutes. Finally he was coming and I could find out what was so special about this guy and hopefully get him out of my head. I made sure my hair and makeup looked okay and our apartment was clean before he knocked on my door.
I heard a knock finally and couldn’t help but smile at what could be on the other side of the door. I was hoping he was at least cute. I opened the door and there he stood, tall, blue eyed and blond. He was very cute and had the best smile. You could tell he was nervous but still handled the shy returned missionary syndrome well. I invited him in and told him that we had to go get his keys from the office so he followed me downstairs to the rec room and we grab his keys. We talked the whole time. I can’t remember what about but I do know I liked talking to him. I handed him his keys, explained the laundry card, access card and that he had a key to his apartment and his bedroom that were different colors and them showed him where his apartment was. I told him that if he had any questions to let me know and that he knew where to find me. I walked away to my apartment but couldn’t help but want to stay and talk with him and just be around him.
That same feeling was still there after being home for a short while so I thought of an excuse to go back and just see the constant thought named Jace Taylor in apartment 102. I thought it might be because he was moving into my old apartment I lived in my first year but knew that was just a hopeful guess. I ran down to the office grab a box of light bulbs and headed to the apartments I knew needed them. When I arrived at apartment 102 I was nervous and excited to see what would happen. I was invited in to his apartment by his roommates and talked with them for a little bit. Jace and his dad were packing stuff in this room. I caught him for a second to ask if he needed light bulbs and he also gave me his rent check. He pulled it out of his shirt pocket so cockily that I almost laughed, but smiled really big instead. We talked about the apartments for a minute while his dad just smiled at us, well mostly just me. They were going to get something to eat for dinner so they said goodbye but somehow we exchanged phone numbers before he left.
I finished my light bulb run and went back home still pondering the events of meeting Jace Taylor and wondering why he wouldn’t leave my head. I guess I would have to see what happened over the next semester.
